Trainee / Junior EHS Advisor

The Trainee / Junior EHS Advisor will support the delivery of the company's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Management System across multiple construction and engineering projects. The role is designed for individuals beginning their career in health and safety who are looking to gain practical site experience while working towards becoming a fully competent EHS Advisor.

Working under the guidance of experienced EHS professionals, the successful candidate will assist in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring legal compliance, and helping deliver the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in Environmental, Health & Safety within a fast-paced operational business.

THIS ROLE WILL BE BASED 5 DAYS PER WEEK ON SITE IN MULLAGHBAWN, NEWRY, CO. DOWN WITH SOME REQUIREMENT TO TRAVEL TO SITES ACROSS EUROPE ONCE FULLY TRAINED

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily site inspections and monitor compliance with company procedures, RAMS, client requirements, and PPE standards.
  • Support supervisors and project teams in maintaining safe systems of work and implementing corrective actions.
  • Identify and report unsafe acts and conditions, assisting with accident, incident, and near miss investigations.
  • Deliver and support daily briefings, toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and maintain high housekeeping standards across site.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, training and competency logs, action trackers, close-out reports, and upload documentation to company management systems.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

Essential Skills/Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Certificate Level - third level qualification equivalent will suffice and NEBOSH training will be provided.
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Strong Organisational Skills
  • IT Literate (MS Office – Essential)
  • Willingness to travel and work throughout Europe
