Client Opportunity: Junior Treasury Dealer
About the Role
Our client, an internationally established banking institution with a prominent presence across Europe, the Middle East, and global markets, seeks to expand its London operation. Combining decades of banking heritage with a rapidly growing UK franchise, the organisation is renowned for delivering relationship-led banking services in corporate banking, trade finance, treasury, and international banking.
As part of this growth, this position offers an exciting opportunity for a Junior Treasury Dealer to join a high-calibre, close-knit team in London. This role provides exceptional broad exposure across:
- Treasury
- Liquidity Management
- Foreign Exchange (FX)
- Settlements
- Credit
Initially focused on treasury and operational activities, the role serves as a clear pathway into broader banking disciplines—including progression into the Credit function—with hands-on experience in a highly visible and commercially significant role.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior management while gaining practical experience across front-to-back banking activities, positioned in an environment where contributions are valued, visible, and integral.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury & Liquidity Operations
- Support the day-to-day management of the Bank's liquidity position
- Assist with Money Market, Forex, and Fixed Income transactions
- Monitor funding requirements and liquidity movements
- Support daily treasury reporting and profitability analysis
- Help manage counterparty bank relationships and onboarding processes
- Handle treasury settlements and operational processing requirements

FX & Position Management
- Monitor FX positions throughout the trading day
- Ensure compliance with approved risk parameters
- Assist in managing Net Open FX Positions and overnight limits
- Support stop-loss limits and risk controls
- Produce accurate market and position reporting for management
Risk, Controls & Compliance
- Monitor interbank, treasury, and FX limits
- Ensure alignment with the Bank’s risk appetite framework
- Support adherence to FCA, PRA, Bank of England, and UK MAR regulations
- Contribute to operational controls and first-line risk management
- Escalate operational issues and potential risks, ensuring prompt and appropriate action
Credit & Business Support
- Provide support for the Credit function as needed
- Assist with customer interest certificates and audit requests
- Contribute to due diligence and onboarding reviews for banking counterparties
- Collaborate with teams across Treasury, Operations, Risk, and Credit
- Participate in business-wide projects and process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in Treasury Operations, Treasury Dealing, FX Operations, Settlements, Money Markets, or Banking Operations
- Gained experience within a regulated banking environment
- Knowledge of liquidity management, treasury settlements, and foreign exchange processes
- Strong analytical and numerical competencies
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability
- Understanding of FCA and PRA regulatory environments
- Proficient in Excel and confident using treasury systems
- Experience with Bloomberg (or similar market data platforms) is advantageous but not required
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and desire to expand banking expertise
