Tech Pipeline Junior Web Developer Opportunity

Tech Pipeline is currently supporting a Birmingham-based firm that is expanding its operations through a series of technical transitions. We help companies like this fix the friction in the middle of their business processes, where manual workarounds and broken data pipelines slow everything down. As a Junior Web Developer, you will work within our remote team to identify and resolve the specific technical gaps that prevent information from moving smoothly between systems.

About the Role

At Tech Pipeline, we deal with the messy reality of growing tech stacks. Often, a company grows faster than its internal tools can handle, leading to backlogs and manual reconciliation. In this role, you will not be building abstract frameworks or attending long strategy sessions. Instead, you will be looking at where the data goes bad and why approval chains are stuck. You might be asked to fix a broken routing rule, update a reporting table, or trace a transaction through multiple logs to find out why it did not reach the source of truth. This is a fully remote position where the focus is on concrete technical fixes that help operators do their jobs without unnecessary hurdles.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Trace data errors by reading system logs and identifying the exact point where a routing rule failed.
  • Update and maintain small scripts in JavaScript to automate simple data transfers between internal tools.
  • Fix layout issues and update HTML or CSS for internal dashboards used by operations teams.
  • Compare records across different databases to identify why specific numbers are drifting between systems.
  • Document every fix and configuration change so the client team can eventually run the system without us.
  • Set up basic API hooks to move data from email chains into central databases.
  • Monitor backlogs to ensure that new code successfully handles the edge cases we identified during the discovery phase.
  • Assist senior developers in rebuilding reporting pipelines to ensure finance teams have accurate monthly data.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Working at Tech Pipeline

We believe that technical work is most effective when it is grounded in the actual experience of the people using the systems. We do not stay for long-term retainers or offer vague advice. We fix the problem, stay through the first month of live operation to ensure the solution holds, and then we hand everything over to the client. Our remote culture relies on excellent documentation and clear, async communication. We spend our time reading logs and tracing problems rather than sitting in meetings. You will be expected to contribute to this culture by being precise in your updates and staying close to the technical reality of every task.
