I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Writing code: Building, improving and editing code on websites in HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Github: Managing changes using proper version control
  • Web Design: Coming up with your own ideas for how pages should look, using figma or pen and paper to make mock ups and translating them into code
  • Bug Bashing: Resolving bugs when they arise

πŸ‘€ Who You Are:

  • Confident writing code: You must have some experience with writing code. This could be any school project, home project or previous experience but you must know the principles of development. • Have some initiative: Able to think on your feet outside of what it says in the issue ticket and make a best guess.
  • Wordpress: If you know wordpress that's a bonus but not essential
