Role Description
The Kitchen & Bathroom CAD Interior Designer/Technician (Junior/Graduate) is a part to full-time in-person role at our studio in Braco, Dunblane, and is ideal for a recent graduate looking to build a career in bespoke residential design. Working alongside our experienced in-house design team, you'll learn to translate client briefs into detailed CAD designs and technical drawings for bespoke kitchens and bathrooms, ensuring designs are both aesthetically refined and technically accurate.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Preparing layout plans and elevations
- Specifying materials and fixtures
- Coordinating with the in-house trades team
- Updating drawings as projects progress

You'll assist with project documentation to ensure smooth handover to installation, and help maintain drawing standards and adherence to building and safety regulations. This is a hands-on role with real mentorship, offering the chance to develop quick, confident turnarounds on design amendments as you grow into the position.
Qualifications
- A relevant qualification in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or a related field, gained or nearing completion.
- Foundational CAD and technical drawing skills (e.g., AutoCAD or kitchen/bathroom design software), developed through study, placement, or personal projects.
- A good grounding in interior design principles, spatial planning, materials, and finishes, with a genuine eye for detail and interest in high-end residential design.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused attitude, with enthusiasm to develop collaborative relationships with clients, designers, tradespeople, and suppliers.
- An interest in the practical aspects of kitchen workspaces, including food preparation, cooking flows, and hygiene considerations for functional design.
- Any exposure to kitchen and bathroom design or technical drawing, through study, placement, or internship, is a plus but not essential.
- Willingness to learn how to interpret architectural plans, measure sites accurately, and produce clear, build-ready drawings and specifications.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and keep accurate documentation.
