We’ve developed machines to fully automate human cell production – the most manual process in Biotech. Cells are used to discover and develop new drugs, and now they're being used to cure diseases like Parkinson’s and age-related blindness. Mytos will impact cure development across the board.
We're live in multibillion dollar biotechs on both coasts of the US and raised $19M to expand into the market faster, and accelerate our development. Next year, neurons grown on our machines will be going into Parkinson patients' brains.

The Role
As a Junior/Mid Level Software Engineer (depending on experience), you’ll contribute to our full-stack product technology based in the cloud and our IoT devices, which interface with our hardware to manufacture cells.
Your work will span various areas and technologies:
- Learn to research, design, implement, maintain, and evolve our functionality.
- Give users powerful tools to customize and monitor cell growth protocols directly impacting how quickly and effectively new therapies and research tools can be developed.
- Your code will quickly impact real-world scenarios: testing on prototype machines in our lab.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with other engineers to deliver end-to-end product solutions including:
- Experiment scheduling
- Automated image analysis
- Remote device operations
- Develop and enhance our frontend using:
- TypeScript, React, and GraphQL, simplifying complex biological workflows.
- Build backend services communicating with our hardware systems.
- Learn and contribute to hardware-state data integrity throughout cell manufacturing.
- Collaborate across projects with hardware engineers, biologists, and commercial teams.
- Contribute to testing methods to ensure speed and quality.
- Learn and expand your understanding of architecture and infrastructure, system performance, and distributed challenges.
- Write code that immediately produces real-world results.
- Grow beyond software engineering, engaging with lab processes like:
- Learning about stem cells and nuances of cellular workflows
- Basics of fluid mechanics
- Reduce lifecycle ownership: gain autonomy and responsibility for solving product problems with technical solutions.

Essential Skills & Tech Experience:
Full-Stack Excellence:
- TypeScript / JavaScript (preferred or other typed languages)
- Modern frontend development (preferably React)
- Backend progression: API design (preferably Node.js)
- Database proficiency (e.g., PostgreSQL) + ORM experience like Prisma

Nice-to-Haves:
- Understanding of distributed systems principles
- Python for scripting or image/data processing tasks
- Familiarity with automation tools in laboratory settings
- Background in regulated workflows (e.g., GMP, HIPAA)
- Familiarity with Helpdesk/Core Functionality (MVP-to-product enhancements)
Our Technology Stack
**Frontend (Networkini): React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Storybook for components
**Backend Routing & Computation (AWS/Heroku): **Nodejs/Ts, GraphQL, MQTT for real-time data, Python scripts, orchestration with Pulumi
IoT Systems (on-premise): Node/MQTT or FastAPI/firmware (Winbond Kernel)
- All infrastructure consists of layering our software APIs onto data devices (layered with LED-behaviourial sychonisation) at data-throughput requirements.
Firmware:
- C++, leading with GTest=Google, and GMock - with open basis using Bazel functionality pipeline; Platformio.
