The Position
We are looking for an experienced Just Transition Advisor & Programme Manager to play a central role in one of the fastest-growing areas of Human Level’s work.
You will help shape how leading companies, investors and philanthropic organisations advance a just transition – ensuring that the shift to a low-carbon economy creates better outcomes for workers, communities and society.
This is a unique role that combines programme leadership and coordination, stakeholder engagement and substantive advisory work. You will coordinate ambitious multi-stakeholder initiatives while also contributing to Human Level’s work on just transition, helping companies translate emerging expectations into practical action.
Working alongside Human Level’s experts, you will help convene influential organisations, develop thought leadership, support client work, facilitate collaboration and ensure that complex programmes deliver real impact.
The role currently includes leading the day-to-day coordination of an established philanthropic alliance on just transition, supporting the development of a new coalition of companies and investors, and contributing to work with companies seeking to strengthen the people dimension of their climate transition.
Occasional international travel may be required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
