Senior KDB+ Developer | London, UK | Luxoft
Luxoft is hiring for a Senior KDB Developer to design, develop and optimize high performance data platforms built on kdb+. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in kdb+ tick architecture, performance tuning at scale and close collaboration with business stakeholder - particularly within Risk functions - to deliver robust, efficient and maintainable solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade kdb+ tick architectures
- Build and optimize platforms handling large-scale, high-frequency datasets
- Drive performance improvements across q queries, data models, and ingestion pipelines
- Partner closely with business stakeholders and Risk teams to deliver scalable solutions
- Lead technical best practices, code quality initiatives, and performance benchmarking
- Mentor developers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence
- Participate in architecture reviews, production support, and complex problem resolution
- Work within Agile delivery teams from design through deployment

What We're Looking For
- Extensive hands-on kdb+ development experience in production environments
- Strong expertise in q programming, including:
- Splayed, partitioned, and segmented table design
- In-memory vs. on-disk architecture decisions
- Efficient joins, aggregations, and analytics
- Deep understanding of kdb+ Tick Architecture
- Ticker Plant
- RDB
- HDB
- Proven experience optimizing performance and scalability for large datasets
- Strong Unix/Linux skills with shell scripting expertise

Nice to Have
- Experience with kdb+ IPC and external system integrations
- Low-latency and high-availability system tuning
- Data quality frameworks and operational resilience practices
- Knowledge of financial markets, market data, trading, risk, or post-trade workflows
- Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code
