Meet the Team

Core to the health and growth of Millennium’s business, the Information Technology organization develops flexible, scalable technology and advanced proprietary systems, including the next generation of analytical and trading capabilities. Within this organization, the EQ Real-Time PL & Risk team is a front-office technology group responsible for the design, development, and support of firmwide platforms that enable the business to view, evaluate, hedge, and trade live positions, P & L, and risk. The team builds and owns the platforms that deliver live risk and P & L across the firm.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with R & D and application development teams to design, prototype, and implement next-generation high-performance real-time analytics solutions that scale with the business
  • Collaborate with the team to build a market-leading portfolio P & L and risk platform for latency-critical processes with high visibility across trading and management teams
  • Work across a range of technologies to deliver state-of-the-art intraday analytics platforms used in risk and portfolio management systems across the firm
  • Contribute to the application development and architecture of highly scalable real-time platforms
  • Support the build and ongoing enhancement of real-time and historical data infrastructure, including opportunities to optimize how data is stored, queried, and processed
  • Develop and maintain clean, testable code in a Linux-based environment
  • Work with interconnected q processes and integrate with components written in C, C++, and Python through IPC, WebSocket, and HTTP interfaces

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience in KDB+ q application development on Linux, with a strong understanding of the Linux operating system
  • Experience building and maintaining feed handlers, real-time databases, and historical databases, with a focus on performance and optimization
  • Experience working with multiple q processes interacting with one another and with services written in C, C++, and Python
  • Strong coding standards and experience writing clean, testable code
  • Basic understanding of computer networking and experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog and the ELK stack
  • Basic understanding of equities, linear products, and financial markets, along with a strong interest in working directly with investment professionals
  • Collaborative approach, strong team orientation, and willingness to contribute across the group
  • Curiosity, learning agility, and interest in experimenting with new ideas; cross-asset risk analytics or large-scale real-time portfolio risk and P & L engine experience is a plus
