Duties
We’re looking for an experienced keeper, who is versatile and enthusiastic to join our Zoo family. This is a physically demanding role covering a variety of sections and working with a range of different species including primates and penguins. Daily duties will include:
- Undertaking the cleaning and feeding regimes for the allocated section(s), working to set operating procedures to deliver the highest levels of animal husbandry.
- Providing exceptional guest service and engagement, delivering fun, educational feeding experiences and public talks.
- Enclosure enrichment, maintenance and grounds work including weeding, planting, re-branching and painting.
- Chaperoning our work experience candidates and students as part of our educational programme.
- Working independently, with the ability to use your initiative, and as part of a team.

Who we’re looking for…
As part of our team, you’ll need to have a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude, be adaptable and willing to learn. You’ll need to be driven to deliver our mission to exceed guests’ expectations, creating magical moments for our guests to treasure and always looking to the future. Experience of working with primates and penguins advantageous.
Our Ideal Candidate Will
- Have 2 – 3 years practical experience within a similar setting
- Qualifications to degree level in Zoology or a related field
- Have experience driving agricultural machinery
- Be hardworking, reliable and a team player
- Hold a full driving licence valid in the UK
- Excellent communication and team work skills are essential
