About AEC

We're looking for a commercially driven account manager or business development professional who enjoys turning strong client relationships into long-term growth.

With an established client base, a respected brand and a market-leading compliance offering, you'll have the platform to develop accounts, win new business and make a genuine impact on the future success of our employee-owned organisation.

AEC is one of the UK's leading compliance consultancies, helping organisations manage asbestos, water, fire safety and occupational hygiene risks across the built environment. Since 1997, we've grown from a specialist asbestos consultancy into a national provider of compliance services and vocational training. In 2024, we became an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), meaning our team have a genuine stake in our success and share in the rewards of our growth.

We're now looking for an ambitious and commercially focused Key Account and Business Development Consultant, supporting our asbestos consultancy services to join our growing team.

The Opportunity

This role combines the best of account management and business development. You'll inherit a portfolio of existing clients and be responsible for developing those relationships, identifying growth opportunities and increasing revenue across our asbestos consultancy services. Alongside this, you'll proactively pursue new business opportunities within target sectors, building relationships with new clients and converting opportunities into long-term partnerships.

Approximately 60% of your time will be focused on developing and supporting existing accounts, with 40% dedicated to winning new business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
