Key Account Manager

Key Account Manager – Energy (London or Luton)

About the Role

Location: Hybrid (London or Luton)

We’re seeking high-energy Key Account Managers dedicated to owning and developing relationships with our top-tier energy customers.

As the guardian of these accounts, your primary focus is on delivering high-impact relationship strategies, maximising renewals conversion, customer satisfaction, and commercial results throughout the customer’s renewable sales cycle.

Key Success Measures

  • Customer retention and renewal rates
  • Higher sales conversion (actual consumption sold vs. pipeline potential)
  • Customer satisfaction (tied to NPS scores)
  • Effective contact strategies & productivity (meeting ratios, agent cross-referencing)
  • Compliance metrics

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management

✔ Develop strong, long-term client relationships across all lifecycle stages ✔ Align products/services with customer objectives, challenges, and financial priorities ✔ Implement structured contact strategies to maximise business opportunities, focusing on the renewal window

Value-Added Services

✔ Provide proactive reviews and services including:

  • Monthly consumption analysis
  • KVA capacity assessments
  • Bill validation and optimisation ✔ Ensure clear documentation of all interactions for renewals team visibility & seamless handover

Renewal & Retention Focus

✔ Proactively manage account health & risk, recovering rampant churn where possible ✔ Drive upselling/cross-selling opportunities alongside hygiene activities ✔ Foster collaboration across Energy Renewals Agents and internal teams to guarantee smooth renewals


About You

At interview, you’ll articulate your ability to:

  • Proven account management experience (customer-centric and strategic)
  • Commercial grade track record in driving renewals, cross-sell, or revenue growth
  • High-performing communication & stakeholder techniques ( negoiations, advocation)
  • Commercial & analytical acumen: spotting opportunities for return on investment
  • Strong organisation & planning ability (managing mixed account maturation lifecycles)
  • Ownership drive with the agility to adjust constantly for end-of-year targets

  2. Technical interview with the line manager
  3. Team immersion round with colleagues across the business
