Key Account Manager
Stanford-le-Hope, Essex
£45,000 - £55,000 + Bonus & Excellent Benefits
Permanent | Full-Time | Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:30pm)
Company Overview
My client is a well-established and growing manufacturing business supplying specialist products to customers across a range of highly regulated industries. Renowned for delivering innovative solutions and exceptional customer service, the business works with clients both in the UK and internationally and continues to invest in its people, products, and long-term growth.
Due to continued expansion, they are looking to recruit an experienced Key Account Manager to join their commercial team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of key customer accounts, building long-term relationships while ensuring projects and customer requirements are delivered on time and to the highest standards.
Working closely with internal departments including Production, Logistics, Procurement and Finance, you'll coordinate customer orders from enquiry through to delivery, ensuring excellent communication throughout the process. The role also offers the opportunity to identify new commercial opportunities and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with key customer accounts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer enquiries and ongoing projects.
- Coordinate customer orders from quotation through to delivery.
- Liaise closely with Production, Logistics, Procurement and Finance to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Monitor order progress and proactively communicate updates to customers.
- Resolve customer queries and coordinate effective solutions where required.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and develop new business.
- Prepare quotations, pricing and commercial documentation.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and customer information.
- Build strong relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in a Key Account Management, Account Management or Customer Relationship role within a manufacturing, engineering, chemical or industrial environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent customer relationship skills.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects or customer orders simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Skills
- Experience within the chemical, fuel, manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Understanding of supply chain, production or logistics operations.
- Experience managing technically focused customer accounts.
Salary & Benefits
- £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE)
- Permanent, full-time position
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm (37.5 hours per week)
- Office-based during probation, with the opportunity to work from home 1-2 days per week thereafter
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- 10% discretionary annual bonus (paid pro rata in January)
