Key Account Manager

Company: MasterMover

Location: Remote - South of England (with regular travel across the region and occasional visits to our Head Office in Ashbourne, Derbyshire)

Position Overview:

This is a remote, field-based role where you'll take ownership of a defined territory, managing strategic customer accounts while developing new business opportunities. You'll act as a trusted technical and commercial advisor, working closely with customers to understand their manufacturing processes, operational challenges, and material handling requirements before recommending tailored MasterMover solutions.

Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through site surveys, solution development, commercial negotiation, and final order, you'll play a key role in delivering sustainable sales growth and strengthening long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow existing strategic and key customer accounts across the South of England.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within manufacturing and industrial sectors.
  • Deliver consultative, solution-led sales by understanding customer applications, operational challenges, and engineering requirements.
  • Lead project opportunities from initial enquiry through site surveys, technical solution development, proposal presentation, commercial negotiation, and successful order.
  • Conduct customer site visits, application assessments, and product demonstrations.
  • Build a strong sales pipeline and consistently achieve or exceed revenue targets.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline management, and sales forecasting.
  • Develop expert knowledge of the MasterMover product range, applications, and technical capabilities.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Applications teams to develop technically appropriate customer solutions.
  • Interpret customer technical requirements and communicate them effectively across internal teams.
  • Support project implementation and customer handover where required.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify growth opportunities.

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for a technically minded, commercially driven sales professional who can combine strong customer relationship skills with the ability to understand complex engineering challenges. You'll be equally comfortable developing new business, managing strategic accounts, and working alongside customers, Engineering, and Applications teams to deliver tailored material handling solutions. With the ability to translate customer requirements into technically appropriate solutions, you'll act as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process, from initial concept through to successful implementation.

You will bring:

  • Proven success in B2B or industrial sales with a track record of delivering revenue growth.
  • Experience managing strategic or key customer accounts.
  • Experience selling technical, engineered, or capital equipment into manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Experience managing long sales cycle, project-led sales opportunities.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineering applications and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial judgement and solution-selling capability.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to influence both technical and commercial decision-makers.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently across a large territory.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the South of England.
