Key Account Manager – Leatherhead Area (Building Materials Distributor)
Are you based in or around the Leatherhead area? Do you have experience in sales or account management?
Jewson (now part of STARK Building Materials UK) is seeking a proactive, relationship-focused Key Account Manager to join our team.
About the Role
Key Account Manager – Full-time (Open to discussing part-time/job share options).
The Key Account Manager will managing relationships with our largest key accounts—primarily housebuilders—ensuring seamless delivery of materials while driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage & grow high-value accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and revenue retention.
- Build & maintain strong relationships with:
- Client procurement teams
- Quantity Surveyors
- Project Managers
- Site Agents
- Provide operational support in-house and on-site, including:
- Coordinating estimates, orders, and deliveries
- Resolving issues to keep projects on track
- Providing technical product support & data sheets
- ** Execute the full order lifecycle**, from intake to delivery, with collaboration from branches and logistics teams.
- Act as the principal contact for allocated housebuilder sites:
- Monitor build progress
- Ensure materials align with site schedules & delivery deadlines
- Mediate between clients, suppliers, and internal operations
- Proactively identify growth opportunities by:
- Source non-standard or bespoke products in line with customer needs
- Optimise order flow to boost margins and revenue targets

Requirements
- Experience in sales, account management, or customer service—preferably within builders’ merchants, suppliers, or construction, though not essential.
- Commercial awareness:
- Deep knowledge of rebates, delivery charges, and credit processes.
- Ability to negotiate pricing and terms favourably.
- Exceptional communication skills:
- Bringing clarity, professionalism, and responsiveness to interactions.
- Engaging effectively with execives, procurement teams, suppliers, and site teams.
- Project management skills, including:
- Prioritising deadlines
- Handling complex workflows
- Balancing multiple accounts and orders
- Full UK driving licence required (site visits and travel required).
