Key Account Manager
Key Account Manager – Waste & Recycling Industry
As a Key Account Manager, your primary focus will be managing and nurturing relationships with our most valued customers. Your role will involve working closely with clients to understand their needs, provide tailored solutions, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers in the waste and recycling industry.

Account Growth & Retention
- Drive account growth by identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling services.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through site visits and audits.
- Provide customised services and equipment solutions.
- Focus on selling baling and compacting equipment to customers.

Strategic Planning
- Develop account strategies and tailored solutions to meet unique customer needs.
- Improve customer outcomes and operational efficiency.

Problem-Solving
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing issues promptly and professionally.

Contract Negotiation
- Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service agreements for favourable terms.

Collaboration
- Work with internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, Accounts, Depot & Operations, Transport) for seamless service delivery.

Market Insights
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to provide informed recommendations.

- Prepare and deliver regular reports to senior management on:

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in Account Management/Sales (preferably within waste management or recycling industry).
- Product Knowledge – Understanding of waste disposal, recycling, and environmental compliance is beneficial.
- IT Proficiency – CRM software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and other relevant digital tools.
- Commercial Awareness – Knowledge of business operations, pricing strategies, and market trends.
- Full UK Driving License – Required for customer visits and site inspections.
