About the Role
The Key Account Manager partners strategically with retail customers, responding to customer-led initiatives with agility and strong product expertise. The role focuses on strengthening existing relationships, translating customer strategies into joint business plans, and influencing category plans through deep market and product knowledge.
What You Will Do
- Build and maintain trust-based relationships with Key Accounts.
- The role includes management of Brand and Retail Brand in strategically important major customers.
- Respond to customer-led initiatives, e.g. New product specifications or Product changes (claims, packaging, formats).
- Lead and align cross-functional teams (Product Development, Supply Chain, Controlling, Customer Marketing) to deliver product initiatives.
- Negotiate trade terms and pricing in a volatile cost environment.
- Provide strategic input for demand planning based on promo calendars, assortment changes, and customer performance.
- Act as the voice of the customer internally and bring market insight to ensure high-quality of innovation roadmap and product-related projects.
- Cultivate long-term, trust-based partnerships with key retail customers.
- Drive execution of customer-specific product changes, launches, and packaging updates.
- Lead tenders and pricing negotiations, adapting terms to cost trends with agility and precision.
Who You Are
- Proven experience in FMCG, brand or brand retail roles involving pricing, customer marketing, or key account management.
- Knowledge of structured commercial environments with strong promotional planning.
- Degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or similar field, or relevant experience.
- Negotiation Skills: Confidently managing tenders and pricing scenarios in a cost-sensitive context.
- Relationship Building: Developing strong trust with customer.
- Category Expertise – Demonstrating in-depth product understanding.
- Analytical Fluency and Thinking: Using insights and margin scenarios to drive customer decisions and internal prioritisation.
- Manages key accounts with a growth mindset, identifying new opportunities and collaborating across teams to drive commercial success.
