๐Ÿšจ Strategic Client Relationship Manager (Construction Consultancy)

๐Ÿ“ Portsmouth | ๐Ÿ’ฐ ยฃ70,000 โ€“ ยฃ80,000 + Bonus/Package | ๐Ÿก Hybrid Working | Permanent

We're working with a growing multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy looking to appoint a Key Account Manager/Strategic Client Relationship Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of long-standing and strategically important client accounts.

We're looking for someone with a strong background in construction, property, engineering, or technical consultancy who has developed into a client-facing relationship or account management role, combining commercial awareness with an excellent understanding of the construction industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys becoming a trusted advisor rather than simply managing projects, building long-term partnerships whilst overseeing the successful delivery of multi-disciplinary consultancy services.

The business delivers projects across Building Surveying, Architecture, Mechanical & Electrical Design, Civil & Structural Engineering, BIM, AutoCAD & Revit Design, Building Services, and MOD/Defence sectors, so the successful candidate will need the technical credibility to engage confidently with both senior client stakeholders and internal design and consultancy teams.

Whilst this is a strategic client-facing position, it is not a traditional sales or business development role. The successful candidate will understand construction consultancy, refurbishment projects, professional services, and project delivery, acting as the link between clients and technical delivery teams whilst identifying opportunities to strengthen and grow existing relationships.

Iโ€™m in my final year doing Economics and I donโ€™t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer โ€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donโ€™t need a masters. Letโ€™s look at the ones youโ€™d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet โ€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
