National Key Account Manager – (Energy customers)
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE) + bonus & benefits
The role is in our Craft division, covering the Energy sector. We require people with excellent sales skills and proven success in account management, goal setting, and target achievement. Experience in the industry is essential.
This is a national role, which requires you to travel extensively around the UK.
Job Description

Key Account Management
- Daily management of a key account remit, ensuring growth with new accounts and through management of existing partnership accounts.
- Dealing with any day-to-day requests that may arise from the customer and also any pricing and delivery issues.

Key Account Team Meetings
- Attending regular team meetings within the division.

CRM Management
- Ensuring the CRM system is kept up to date, including all customer information, forecast figures, customer appointments, and minutes from meetings.

Partnership Contract Management
- Ensuring the Metal key account partnerships are up to date, including contract expiry dates, rebates, contact details, and contact points.

Customer Analysis
- Constantly analyzing the key account agreements on your remit to make sure that they are running at the correct margins, growing product mix, and are achieving sales expectations.

Key Account Ride Along
- Taking our local sales consultants on a ride along to visit individual accounts, obtain information, or to help the individual partnership accounts grow and utilize our services.

Customer Meetings
- Holding regular strategic review meetings with partnership accounts to highlight any new areas of growth and to evaluate the performance of the partnership through spend and product mix reports.

Account Planning
- Building comprehensive plans for new and existing key accounts to help maximize long-term partnership growth, stability, and profitability.
To Succeed in This Role
- A self-starter who can work independently and is driven to achieve goals.
- Proven ability to find and develop new key account business opportunities.
- The ability to build and nurture strong, long-lasting key account relationships.
- Providing excellent service and nurturing premium businesses.
- An interest in and/or understanding of the products or services being sold.
- Competence in using sales software and other relevant computer applications.
- A determined attitude to overcome sales obstacles and achieve success.
- A track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets.
