Key Account Manager

We are aiming to bring into our business someone who has the right mindset for sales, who is resilient, strong-minded and presents themselves well in front of customers and clients. As we offer the development you will need to be successful, you can expect from us to learn the ability to navigate the lighting industry, how to develop a sales plan and create a pipeline of opportunities.
Responsibilities
You can expect from us to develop your skills as a salesperson in the following areas:
- Developing and implementing a specification sales plan which integrates with the regional commercial and projects sales plans.
- Developing and implementing professional account plans for key customers.
- Building and maintaining a broad mix of key account types including Lighting Designers, Architects and Services Consultants.
- Taking ownership of the specification sales budget and delivering sales, margin and results in line with agreed objectives.
- Carrying out visits on behalf of key customers to secure pull-through business to agreed levels.
- Adhering to the company stockist distribution strategy, ensuring wherever possible that project business is passed through.
- Providing accurate specification projections and developing effective responses to bridge any gaps between projected and budgeted performance.

Skills & Experience
Required
- Some years' experience in a sales, business development, account management, or customer-facing commercial role.
- Degree qualified, or equivalent commercial experience.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Highly motivated, resilient, and eager to learn.
- Commercially minded with an ability to identify and develop growth opportunities.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Results-oriented with a proactive approach.
- Comfortable engaging with customers at all levels.
- Full UK driving licence.

- Experience in B2B sales.
- Exposure to wholesaler, contractor, specification, construction, engineering, or technical product environments.
- Experience managing customer relationships
