Key Account Manager
The key account manager is responsible for managing, developing, and growing key retail accounts for the brand. The role focuses on building strong commercial relationships, delivering sales growth, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring the successful execution of brand and promotional strategies across all channels.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, commercially aware, and confident in communicating with customers, retailers, and internal teams. The key account manager will drive revenue, maximize account performance, and strengthen the brand's position within the beauty and tanning market. Having experience within the beauty, cosmetics, tanning, skincare, or FMCG would be an advantage in this fast-paced commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management & Business Development
- Own and manage a portfolio of key retail accounts.
- Develop and execute account plans to deliver sales and profitability targets.
- Build strong relationships with buyers, category managers, and key stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for growth through new listings, product launches, promotional activity, category expansion, and brand visibility.
- Conduct regular reviews and business meetings to maximize performance.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing promotions, and annual trading plans.
- Work closely with the National Account Manager to deliver sales targets, company strategic objectives, and KPIs.
- Process orders and customer enquiries accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate product launches and promotional calendars with customers.
- Analyse sales data, performance trends, and market activity.

Sales Performance
- Deliver revenue, margin, and volume targets in line with company objectives.
- Analyse sales performance, market trends, and customer data to identify opportunities and risks.
- Produce forecasts and manage promotional investment to ensure profitable growth.
- Monitor competitor activity and provide recommendations to maintain competitive advantage.
- Support the successful launch of new products and seasonal campaigns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing teams to ensure brand initiatives and promotional plans are executed effectively.
- Partner with supply chain and operations teams to manage forecasting, stock availability, and customer requirements.
- Liaise with finance teams regarding pricing, rebates, invoices, and account profitability.
- Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure excellent account support and issue resolution.

Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for key customers and strategic partners.
- Develop long-term relationships based on trust, collaboration, and commercial success.
- Deliver presentations, business reviews, and category insights to customers.
- Represent the brand at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events.

- Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports and account updates.
- Track KPIs and provide performance insights to senior management.
- Maintain accurate forecasts and pipeline reporting.
- Evaluate promotional effectiveness and return on investment.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in Key Account Management, or Business Development.
- Experience within beauty, cosmetics, tanning, FMCG, or consumer goods sectors is desirable.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering sales growth and developing strategic partnerships.
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using CRM and sales reporting systems.
- Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
