About the Role
This territorial Key Account Manager role focuses on driving the commercial success of GSK’s haematology medicines through patient access initiatives across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
As the face of GSK’s Haematology team, you’ll develop and execute data-driven account plans, forge high-impact stakeholder relationships, and collaborate across internal teams to enhance medicine uptake and improve patient outcomes.
Your work will support GSK’s critical goal: to positively impact the health of 2.5 billion people by the end of the decade. This high-visibility role sits at the heart of a fast-paced, ambitious field, with the opportunity to shape patient access strategies and advocate for life-transforming treatments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Account Management: Driving Patient Impact & Business Growth
- Lead GSK medicines access in Scotland & Northern Ireland, focusing on Key Hospital accounts (including expert centres and referral hospitals)
- Build trust-based relationships with healthcare stakeholders, including clinicians and policymakers, to align on mutually beneficial access strategies
- Develop comprehensive account plans grounded in market insights, clinical evidence, and patient needs, ensuring alignment with NHS funding mechanisms and commissioning priorities
- Identify and mitigate barriers to medicine uptake (e.g., reimbursement challenges, adherence issues, or pathway inefficiencies)
- Measure progression using KPIs and project milestones, ensuring compliance with GSK’s policies and driving measurable business impact
- Collaborate with internal teams (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Business Insights, Compliance) to coordinate resources and tailor solutions

2. Clinical Differentiation: Communicating Value Across the Customer Journey
- Articulate the benefits of GSK haematology medicines to clinic, commissioning, and decision-makers, bridging clinical expertise with real-world impact
- Coordinate with specialists (MSLs, Medical, Health Outcomes teams) to support complex stakeholder queries, ensuring seamless account delivery
- Champion patient-centred narratives, projecting how GSK medicines address unmet needs and improve system outcomes
3. Advocacy & External Expert Engagement
- Partner with External Experts (EEs) to amplify GSK’s positioning and build clinician advocacy
- Develop networks with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and professional societies to strengthen market momentum in haematology
- Drive alignment across multiple accounts to ensure consistent, evidence-backed messaging and policy influence
4. Pathway Optimisation & Operational Excellence
- Map haematology treatment pathways to identify and optimise critical touchpoints (e.g., enhance adherence support, clarify prescription policies)
- Work with local commissioners to align access strategies with NHS funding frameworks and cancer service priorities
- Foster cross-setting collaborations (primary, secondary, community care) to break into new prescription opportunities

Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- University degree (or equivalent experience) with ABPI certification
- Necessary expertise in:
- NHS account management, specialising in cancer/haematology service provision
- Cancer service commissioning, funding mechanisms, and policy landscapes
- Working across boundaries: Navigating internal teams, external specialists, and payers effectively
- Autonomy & decision-making: Ability to triage issues, interpret commercial/clinical data, and act strategically
- Soft skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication, influential advocacy, and clarity in explaining complex topics
Preferred Attributes
- Haematology/oncology experience (despite being ‘preferred’, not mandatory)
- Project Management PMP capabilities: Outline, monitor, and adapt workstreams (e.g., budgeting, milestone tracking)
- Data acumen: Analyising market/competitive insights, customer feedback, or prescribing trends
