Job Description

Takeda is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, valuing the unique backgrounds and perspectives of our employees. We proudly support our Takeda Resource Groups (TRG), employee-led networks promoting dialogue and professional growth. We encourage all candidates, regardless of background, to apply and explore opportunities to contribute to and benefit from our TRGs and inclusive initiatives. We are dedicated to providing accommodations and support during the recruitment process.

About the Role

As a Key Account Manager, you will drive the growth and success of Takeda's Rare Diseases portfolio across a defined territory in the UK and Ireland. Working in close partnership with cross-functional teams, you will develop and execute strategic account plans that improve patient access, deliver commercial objectives, and strengthen Takeda's position within the healthcare ecosystem.

You will build trusted partnerships with healthcare professionals and key decision-makers, using data-driven insights and an omnichannel engagement approach to create meaningful customer interactions. As the local business leader for your territory, you will balance commercial performance, customer value, and patient outcomes while ensuring full compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

How You Will Contribute

  • Develop and execute territory and account plans aligned with national brand and sales strategies.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional activities to maximise business opportunities and improve patient access.
  • Grow market share and achieve sales objectives through effective account management and customer engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, health system stakeholders, and population-level decision-makers.
  • Use customer insights, analytics, and local market knowledge to identify opportunities and tailor engagement strategies.
  • Deliver high-quality omnichannel interactions through face-to-face, virtual, and digital channels.
  • Organise and facilitate educational meetings, presentations, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities for healthcare stakeholders.
  • Manage territory budgets responsibly and make commercially sound decisions that support business and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure effective use of customer engagement and knowledge management systems.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including brand, medical, market access, and commercial teams.
  • Monitor progress against objectives, evaluate outcomes, and continuously adapt plans to optimise performance.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the therapy area, products, competitors, healthcare environment, and market access landscape.
  • Champion a patient-centric, customer-focused approach while operating to the highest standards of ethics, compliance, and data privacy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
