Key Account Manager - UK
Your Role
Join Edwards as a Key Account Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping our position as the partner of choice for leading global OEMs. In this high-impact role, you will drive revenue, profitability, and long-term growth across a strategic portfolio of key accounts while contributing to our global Scientific OEM Account Management team.
Based in the South of the UK, specifically around Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and Hampshire, you’ll lead the strategy and direction for major OEM customers, ensuring seamless management of sales, orders, and business development activities. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence key industry players, deepen customer relationships, and elevate Edwards as their preferred technology and solutions provider.
As an active member of a peer group of Scientific OEM Account Managers, you will establish Edwards as the core supplier of products and services across a focused portfolio of OEM customers, helping achieve ambitious sales, profitability, and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Account Strategy & Growth
- Develop and execute account strategies for nominated Key OEM Accounts, aligned with Edwards' Scientific OEM business objectives.
- Build and maintain key relationships within customer organizations to influence investment and purchasing decisions.
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities through first-class account management.
- Achieve sales, revenue, profitability, and growth targets across the assigned account portfolio or territory.
- Develop and implement initiatives that support Key OEM business strategies.
- Secure formal supply agreements wherever possible, positioning Edwards as the preferred supplier.
- Report on market and competitive activities and identify opportunities to strengthen Edwards' market position.
- Work closely with Marketing to develop and support new product launch plans within the account portfolio.

Sales & Operational Management
- Manage the complete forecasting process, from receipt of customer information through to implementation in BPC and C4C.
- Manage annual quotes, opportunities, and account plans through C4C.
- Provide monthly sales and orders forecasts for the assigned accounts or territory.
- Deliver monthly customer updates, account reports, and visit reports, ensuring actions are tracked and completed through C4C.
- Manage customer payment performance in partnership with customers and Edwards Credit Control.
- Represent and promote all applicable brands within the Atlas Copco portfolio.
Collaboration & Customer Excellence
- Actively participate in and contribute to Global Account Teams and Sales & Marketing Application Teams.
- Foster a collaborative, team-based approach to account management through strong influencing and leadership skills.
- Coordinate Sales Operations, Aftersales, Quality, Technical, Applications, and other support teams to deliver exceptional customer support.
- Lead the engagement of appropriate Edwards functions to ensure Edwards is recognized as the premium supplier within the account base.
- Influence the wider Edwards organization to deliver excellence and create outstanding customer experiences.
To Succeed, You Will Need
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven track record of sales success with a minimum of three years' experience in a commercial sales or account management role.
- Strong influencing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and with customers.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and lead cross-functional teams when required.
- Commercial vision and business acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and develop winning solutions.
- Skilled at building relationships and engaging others in the pursuit of business growth.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to create and execute action plans through to completion.
- Effective negotiation skills and a desire to continue developing them.
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
- Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable managing changing priorities.
- Strong organizational and forecasting capabilities.
- Ideally degree-qualified in a scientific or engineering discipline such as Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of vacuum technology and applications would be advantageous.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.

Job Location
This role is fully remote but to be based in South East UK, ideally within or close to:
- Oxfordshire
- Buckinghamshire
- Hertfordshire
- Hampshire
The role is primarily home-office based and requires regular travel across the UK and occasional travel within Europe to support customer engagement and business development activities.
