Are you an inspirational teacher with a heart for inclusion? Do you believe that every child, regardless of their starting point, deserves a vibrant learning environment where they can truly thrive?
At The Ashley School, we are proud to be a forward-thinking, all-through special school supporting pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and complex needs from Year 3 to Year 11. As part of an exciting restructure of our pastoral team, we are seeking a visionary Key Stage 3 Inclusion Lead to join us in this brand-new role.
The Opportunity
This is a pivotal leadership position designed for a teacher who wants to make a significant impact beyond their own classroom. You will be the strategic lead for inclusion within Key Stage 3, ensuring that our curriculum and provision allow every learner to achieve the highest standards possible.
In this role, you'll:
- lead the KS3 Inclusion Team: manage a dedicated Inclusion Assistant to focus on learner provision and outcomes
- champion EHCPs: Lead the Annual Review process for all pupils within your Key Stage and monitor progress toward individual interim targets
- collaborate and mentor: act as a role model for outstanding practice, helping other teachers and staff adapt their delivery to meet diverse needs
- identify and solve: work with internal and external professionals to identify unmet needs and implement strategies for improvement
- support school-wide practice: liaise with Curriculum Leads, DSLs, and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure inclusive approaches are embedded throughout the entire school.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
