Key Worker - Intensive Support
Keyworker - Targeted Family Help (Charnwood) | Leicestershire County Council (3 Roles Available)
Work Location: Loughborough Children and Family Centre, Regent St, Loughborough, LE11 5BN
Salary: £35,451 - £39,165 per annum (pro rata for part-time) (Pay award pending)
Working Hours: 2 roles (37 hours/week) and 1 role (30 hours/week)
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: 16th July 2026

About the Role
Targeted Family Help Charnwood is seeking three Keyworkers – individuals who are flexible, resilient, and passionate about building relationships with families facing challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct support in the home to children and families with complex needs (e.g., mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, educational barriers).
- Identifying and delivering evidence-based interventions, such as:
- Solution-focused brief therapy
- Parenting programmes
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches
- Motivational interviewing
- Engaging with families experiencing conflict, resistance to change, or low engagement.
- Safeguarding children, identifying risk indicators, and responding to cumulative harm (e.g., emotional, physical, sexual abuse, neglect).
An enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this role.

About You: Key Requirements
To apply successfully, you must evidence in your personal statement how you meet the following:
Essential Qualifications/Experience
- A Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., children & young people, Family Support, Correctional Practice) or extensive experience providing direct, in-home support to families with complex needs (e.g., mental health, offending, substance dependency, domestic violence, education).
- Proven experience in identifying and delivering interventions such as:
- Solution-focused therapy
- The Freedom Programme
- Parenting support programmes
- CBT-based approaches
- Motivational interviewing
- Knowledge of impactful family issues:
- Domestic violence & abuse
- Mental & emotional health
- Substance misuse
- Poverty
- Housing insecurity
- Discrimination & minority experiences
