How to share our support with students and researchers
King's Careers & Employability is here to support students, doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, research staff and recent graduates on their career journeys. Our services include:
- Support with exploring and finding jobs
- Support with applications, including CVs and interviews
- Support with securing meaningful work experience and internships
- Supporting articulation and reflection on the knowledge, attributes and skills required to be successful in today's global labour market
- Bespoke provision for groups under-represented in higher education, researchers, international students and distance learners
- Events and activities to network with employers, alumni and professionals
- Extracurricular activities via King's Edge

While all of our services are available to all students and research staff at any time, we recommend prioritising specific activities based on your stage of career thinking (Discover, Focus or Action).

These activities are outlined in our Careers Essentials checklists, which have been created to support undergraduates (in their first, middle and final year), postgraduate taught students, doctoral researchers and research staff in making the most of their career journey.
Staff access to King's CareerConnect
Many of our services for students and researchers, including appointments, events and job adverts, are located on King's CareerConnect.
Staff can register to access the platform to view what's available and demonstrate to students how the platform works. After the initial account registration, staff access is single sign-on, to ease future use.
King's Staff Employability toolkit, careers data and advisory boards
The Employability Toolkit is a comprehensive guide to integrating employability at King's. It covers how we work with you and support in areas such as:
- Integrating employability in and alongside the curriculum
- Work-related learning
- The role of personal tutors
- Using and accessing careers data (including Graduate Outcomes and student career readiness)
- Presenting employability in quality reviews
- Constructing industry boards - and information on the King's Employer Advisory Board
- Highlighting employability in your programmes

Understanding the graduate labour market and industry trends
Our Employer Engagement function are expert at understanding what's going on across the graduate labour market to inform, develop and support our students - and staff in being equipped with the latest intelligence.
A dedicated section of the King's Employability Toolkit is available to support staff in their own learning about the UK market and key industry sectors and recordings of sessions developed for students annually are available for staff review also. There are also overviews of our intelligence on key international markets and support for international students.

This also covers areas such as the growth of artificial intelligence and its impact - and we've published a statement on the ethical use of AI in applications and job searching (pdf) to assist our audiences.
We also run an annual training session via SkillsForge (filter to "Careers & Employability"), specifically for staff looking to learn about the graduate labour market in the UK and other key international markets.
