Kit Assistant – Carrington Training Complex, Manchester United

The Purpose

The Kit Assistant ensures all player and staff kit is cleaned, prepared, and delivered to the highest professional standard. This role supports smoother team operations by guaranteeing that training and match kits are organised, available, and ready for use – directly contributing to player performance, team efficiency, and overall club professionalism.


The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing, packing, and distributing kits for training sessions, home and away matchdays, and club events.
  • Ensure all kits, boots, and equipment remain clean, functional, and ready for use.
  • Support the setup of dressing rooms pre-and post-match, including correct shirt numbering and layout.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of kit and equipment (e.g., shirts, shorts, socks, balls, cones, bibs).
  • Wash, dry, and store kit and training wear in line with hygiene standards.
  • Assist with kit transportation logistics to away matches.
  • Assist with labelling and organising player-specific kit.
  • Report any damage or loss of equipment to the Kit Manager.
  • Support the printing of match and training kit designs.
  • Manage pre-season kit arrivals and preparations, ensuring timely readiness for coaches and players.

Must-Have Skills & Qualities

  • Exceptional organisational skills and smarts.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when preparing kit.
  • Self-sufficient and collaborative – comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent timekeeping and reliability (evenings and weekends included).
  • Flexible and adaptable to the demands of the role.
  • Willingness to learn and refine skills continuously.
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence.
