Kitchen Assistant
Kitchen Assistant – Haddington Care Home
Location: Haddington Salary: £12.98 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week (4 days), contracted Benefits:
- Paid PVG scheme clearance
- Pension scheme
- Uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro-rated for part-time)
About the Role
As a Kitchen Assistant at Haddington Care Home, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality meals in a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This hands-on position will involve assisting with food preparation, maintaining kitchen standards, and helping the wider team ensure smooth operations.
Working closely with the Chef and kitchen staff, you’ll support:
- Food preparation and service
- Cleanliness and organisation across the kitchen
- Assist with deliveries, stock management, and storage
- Contribute to a safe, well-run kitchen

What We Are Looking For
We’re seeking a reliable and positive individual with:
- Strong attention to detail and organisation
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential
