Kitchen Assistant – Health and Social Care Team

We are seeking a passionate, creative and caring individual to join our talent-driven catering team. If you’re looking to start or advance your career in health and social care, this role allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll be a crucial part of our catering team, ensuring smooth kitchen operations and delivering an exceptional dining experience for our residents. Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and serving nutritious and healthy meals, taking into account dietary preferences and requirements (including special dietary needs).
  • Supporting the kitchen team to maintain food safety, hygiene, and high-quality service standards.
  • Setting up and clearing dining areas, keeping kitchen and equipment clean while strictly following food safety, COSHH, and HACCP regulations.
  • Engaging with residents to foster connections, promoting a hospitality-focused approach to catering.
  • Assisting in developing seasonal menus that encourage independence and choice.

Hours: 35 per week


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to meet daily dining needs.

  • Work in a team-oriented environment, communicating effectively to support a positive dining experience.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously in a team.
  • A detail-oriented approach, with some familiarity (or experience) in health or hospitality environments.
  • A basic food hygiene certificate (essential for eligible candidates).
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment safety, COSHH, and HACCP protocols.
