Haddington Care Home is a well-established care home in Haddington, providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite, and Palliative care for up to 68 residents. With a strong team culture and focus on high standards, the home offers a supportive environment where staff can develop their skills and make a meaningful difference every day.
Kitchen Assistant
£12.98 per hour
Contracted to 40 hours per week - 4 Days per week
Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
Role Overview
As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high-quality meals within a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen environment. This is a hands-on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen, and assist with deliveries, storage, and stock organization. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.
This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well-organized kitchen environment.
What We Are Looking For
- A positive and reliable approach
- Good organization and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential
