Kitchen Assistant and Cashier (Casual Role)

A great opportunity to assist with the smooth running of all kitchen facilities by providing friendly and efficient front-of-house service at our training ground in Hale End.

The Role

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant and Cashier to join our Kitchen team at our training ground in Hale End on a casual basis. We are looking for someone with a passion for food, who has a positive attitude and thrives in a team environment.

You will be responsible for providing friendly and efficient front-of-house service, including serving food buffet style, processing card payments, and supporting staff and players.

This role involves managing accurate records of staff food spend, ensuring smooth service and upholding high standards of hygiene and professionalism at all times.

Please note: this role will involve working flexible hours, including weekday evenings and weekends.

Your day-to-day

  • Deliver excellent customer service - you will serve food and drink in a buffet style setup, providing excellent customer service to staff, players and visitors
  • Oversee orders and payments - you'll operate the till and process card payments accurately, tracking staff food spend and maintain clear records
  • Lead by example - you will communicate clearly and professionally with all customers, upholding club policies at all times, especially health and safety, food hygiene and safety procedures and safeguarding
  • Ensure consistent stock levels - you'll support the team in restocking front-of-house areas and uphold cleanliness throughout service
  • Maintain safety and compliance - you will ensure the safety of others is considered and confidentiality is maintained at all times when work is being undertaken, ensuring the compliance of nutrition and sanitation regulations and all industry hygiene and safety standards
  • Support the Front-of-House and Kitchen team - you'll show flexibility and a positive, can do attitude to help out in other areas where required

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in a similar kitchen environment - you have experience in a customer-facing or food service role
  • Excellent communicator - you are a confident, clear communicator with a positive team player attitude
  • Expertise in processing payments - you are confident in handling transactions and using a POS system
  • True team player - you can effectively work in a team as well as independently and you're willing to support and help with your teams needs when required
  • Adaptable and organised - you thrive under pressure and you’re able to effectively adapt to change and prioritise workloads accordingly
  • Flexible and dedicated - you have availability to work weekdays and / or weekends and early mornings
