Kitchen Assistant, Rosepark

We are looking for a passionate, creative, and caring individual to work within our talented catering team. If you are looking to begin, or continue, your career in health and social care, then join us in making a positive difference to the lives of our residents.

We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Assistant (or someone with a background in hospitality) to join our team in Rosepark for 24 hours a week.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you are an essential member of our catering team, playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and enhancing the dining experience for our residents. You will assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious and healthy meals, working closely with the kitchen team to cater to the preferences and dietary needs of our residents, including those with special dietary requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and clearing dining areas
  • Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in all kitchen, serving, and dining areas
  • Helping to keep the kitchen and equipment clean
  • Ensuring all safety and hygiene protocols are strictly followed
  • Engaging with residents to build meaningful connections
  • Supporting a hospitality-style approach to catering
  • Helping to develop seasonal menus that promote choice and independence as core elements of their dining experience

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Communicate effectively
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Have a good eye for detail
  • Ideally, have experience in a similar environment
  • Hold a Basic Food Hygiene certificate
  • Have knowledge of the correct use of kitchen equipment
  • Be familiar with COSHH and HACCP regulations
