Production Assistant (Part-Time) – Henderson Group
About the Role
✅ Location: EUROSPAR/Texaco (Garvagh), 1 Main Street, Garvagh, Co. Londonderry, BT51 5AA
💰 Pay Rate: £11.90 - £13.25 per hour (depending on age) with great benefits
📅 Working Hours:
- Part-time: 24 hours per week
- Shift Pattern: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Sunday
- Flexibility Required

Key Responsibilities
The Production Assistant will play a vital role in a fast-paced kitchen environment, supporting the movement, storage, and rotation of goods while ensuring:
- Freshly cooked products are packed, preserved, protected, and presented attractively for store display.
- All goods are correctly labelled and accurately recorded.
- Compliance with legislative, quality, and shelf-life requirements.

You will report to the Head Chef and contribute to:
- Goods In: Ensuring adherence to quality specifications and regulatory standards.
- Stock Management: Implementing effective rotation and stock control procedures.
- Preparation Assistance: Supporting Chef & Head Chef in ingredient preparation.
- Ordering & Budgeting: Assisting with stock control and procurement decisions.
- Production & Labeling: Maintaining cleanliness, printing accurate labels (including use-by dates & pricing), and ensuring compliance with food labelling regulations.
- Production Planning: Ensuring enough labels and packaging are available for daily output.
- Modern Equipment: Handling, cleaning, and maintaining printing and packaging machinery.
Additional duties may include:
- Wastage/ damage recording
- Organising storage and packaging
Skills for Success
Ideal Experience
✔ Previous experience in catering and/or hospitality (especially in a kitchen environment). ✔ Fluency with fresh ingredients, enthusiasm for cooking, and a passion for quality food. ✔ High-pressure adaptability with an unwavering commitment to food quality standards.
Desirable Extras
✅ Experience in a Fresh Food Production Kitchen. ✅ Previous supervisory/mentoring role. ✅ Proficiency in budgeting/target management. ✅ Familiarity with MS Office.
