We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter to join the team at Oz & Isle, the signature restaurant at The Hobson Cambridge. Oz & Isle offers a contemporary dining experience inspired by Australian hospitality, combining quality ingredients, vibrant flavours, and a strong beverage-led concept. The Hobson Cambridge is a flagship property within the TFE Hotels portfolio, part of a growing European hospitality group with more than 20 hotels across brands including Adina Hotels, A by Adina, MM:NT, The Hobson, and The Wellington.

The Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll play an essential role in supporting the kitchen team and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the restaurant. Working closely with the chefs, you'll help maintain cleanliness, organisation, food safety standards, and ensure the kitchen is always prepared for service.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Pot wash and dishwashing.
  • Supporting chefs with basic food preparation tasks.
  • Receiving and storing deliveries.
  • Maintaining cleanliness throughout kitchen and back-of-house areas.
  • Completing cleaning schedules and deep cleaning tasks.
  • Managing waste disposal and recycling.
  • Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
  • Supporting the wider team during busy service periods.

What We're Looking For

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable and flexible approach to work.
  • Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Team player with a willingness to learn.

What We Offer

  • Expected earnings up to £30,000 per annum including service charge.
  • £27,000 basic salary plus monthly service charge.
