Kitchen Assistant (Part Time)
Northlands Care Home 6 Westrow Road, Southampton SO15 2LY 15-Hour Contract – £13.10–£14.10 per hour

We’re now seeking a passionate Kitchen Assistant to join our team, helping us create excellent dining experiences for our residents.
You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By
- Acting as the bridge between the main kitchen and our care team, ensuring meals are delivered with warmth and attention to detail
- Supporting chefs in plating meals, preparing trolleys, and maintaining a clean, well-organised preparation area
- Monitoring stock rotation and complying with all company policies, COSHH, and HACCP guidelines
- Helping with special occasions, including summer BBQs, festive celebrations, and themed dining events
Key Skills & Experience Required
- A love for food, with previous kitchen experience (preferably in a care setting or hospitality)
- A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (essential)
- Exceptional customer service skills, ensuring guests feel valued and cared for throughout mealtimes
- Strong teamwork abilities—you’ll collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff, care teams, and residents
- Attention to detail and commitment to rigorous health/safety standards
- A compофemployee welfare in mind and an understanding of what residents seek in their food
