About the Role
At Greene King pubs, we believe pubs are the heart of communities. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team at our White Lion, Frenchay pub (Dept. L4/House: Frenchay - 06955). This role is perfect for someone who loves food, enjoys a fast-paced environment, and wants to play an integral part in delivering great hospitality to our customers.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll help ensure our busy kitchen runs smoothly, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and service. Your positive attitude and willingness to learn will help you thrive in this dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the kitchen team to ensure all food prep, cooking, and plating meets our high standards.
- Keep the kitchen well-stocked, organised, and clean to maintain hygiene standards.
- Assist in the daily responsibilities of food preparation, including:
- Chopping, peeling, and prepping ingredients.
- Assisting with cooking and plating dishes.
- Clearing and sanitising utensils and surfaces as necessary.
- Follow hygiene and food safety regulations to guarantee cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure a seamless service throughout meal times.
- Keep the kitchen area sparkling by adhering to frequent cleaning routines, including floors, walls, surfaces, and equipment.

- Maintain regular communication with the kitchen team to ensure everything runs efficiently during peak periods.

Requirements
- Ability and willingness to stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to lift and move heavy items as required.
- Respectful, team-focused, and friendly attitude.
- Prior experience in a kitchen is helpful but not essential for motivated beginners.
