About the Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will ensure seamless food preparation, consistent quality, and adherence to safety standards in high-volume kitchen operations—key to supporting our casino and hospitality guests.
Critical to success: ✔ Working in fast-paced, high-volume environments ✔ Shift work required, including evenings, weekends, and early mornings ✔ Maintaining aesthetic standards for food presentation ✔ Upholding strict health, hygiene, and food safety regulations
Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Order accuracy & efficiency: Assist in meeting high-volume food demands per menu requirements
- Safety & hygiene: Maintain compliance with local and company H&H standards, cleaning procedures, and legislative obligations
- Preparation & presentation: Execute visual and cooking instructions for all menu items
- Inventory & stock control: Track input/output, reporting waste or defects
- Food safety: Cross-contamination prevention, proper storage/handling procedures
- Site maintenance: Responsible for cleaning utensils, crockery, equipment, and work areas; follow cleaning schedules
- Process integrity: Adhere to opening/closing standard operating procedures
- Ethical duty: Report health & safety (H&S) issues immediately, no exceptions

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Practical kitchen experience in:
- Casino, hospitality, retail, or service industries (preferred but not exclusive)
- A minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (certificate required upon selection)
- Strong understanding of modern H&S, hygiene, and food safety laws
- Basic proficiency in:
- Using standard kitchen equipment (crockery, cutlery, appliances)
- Multi-tasking in a fast-paced kitchen environment

- Ability to deliver precision & consistency under pressure
- Attention to detail to meet customer expectations
- Organised, efficient, and methodical
- Independent thinker with problem-solving skills for demand estimation
