Company Description

Baxterstorey are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at a busy location in Burton on a temporary contract.

Working as a Kitchen Assistant for Baxterstorey will require you to be an ambassador for this brand and deliver food that creates lasting memories. As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently.

We create fabulous events whatever or wherever the space. We’ve shown time and again that we know our clients inside out, providing outstanding hospitality in complex and historically or culturally sensitive spaces.

As a Kitchen Assistant you will benefit from the following:

Job Description

Contract

Temporary contract until January 2027

Salary

from £12.80 per hour

Shifts Available

  • 8:00am - 12:00pm
  • 4:00pm - 8:00pm
  • 0:00am - 4:00am
  • 7 day a week operation
  • 12 hour contract - Overtime Available

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Assisting chefs with basic food preparation (e.g. chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, plating dishes)
  • Serving customers and use of cashless tills
  • Keeping all kitchen areas clean, hygienic, and organised at all times
  • Operating dishwashing equipment and handwashing kitchenware
  • Handling deliveries and ensuring stock is stored properly
  • Emptying bins, cleaning floors, and maintaining general hygiene
  • Following all food safety and health regulations
  • Helping with stock rotation and reporting low inventory levels
  • Filling vending machines

Qualifications

  • Hardworking and enthusiastic

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
  • Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but not essential — training will be provided
