The Opportunity

We are hiring a Kitchen Manager to lead kitchen operations, maintain high standards, and develop our team at Slug & Lettuce.

Key focus areas:

  • Team leadership & development: Mentor and coach staff while upholding best practices
  • Food safety & hygiene: Enforce COSHH, Food Safety, and H&S standards
  • Operational excellence: Optimise scheduling, stock management, and cost performance
  • Cross-team collaboration: Strengthen ties with front-of-house for sales growth

Key Responsibilities

Hiring & Onboarding

  • Recruit and onboard new team members in an inclusive, welcoming manner.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and guide the kitchen crew, ensuring professional development through training and growth opportunities.

Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Maintain high hygiene standards and a safe, organised workspace.

Staffing & Operations

  • Manage schedules to balance staffing with labour targets.
  • Conduct regular stock checks to control costs efficiently.

Sales & Growth

  • Drive sales growth by fostering strong relationships between kitchen and front-of-house teams.

Person Specification

Must-Have Skills

✦ Proven experience in kitchen leadership (Manager or Team Leader) ✦ Strong food knowledge and culinary expertise ✦ Up-to-date training in COSHH, Food Safety, Health & Safety, and legal compliance
