About the Role
At Soho House, the Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by cleaning and maintaining kitchenware, including pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, and glassware.
Your main responsibility is supporting hygiene and safety standards, managing waste disposal, and maintaining overall cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and back-of-house areas.

Key Duties
- Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware align with daily operational needs
- Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas
- Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately
- Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and practices (in line with UK regulations, including HACCP)
- Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock, reporting low supplies, and providing assistance during peak service times
- Ensure handling of kitchen equipment and items minimises breakages while maintaining inventory integrity
- Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials as required
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment

Requirements
A successful Kitchen Porter at Soho House will ideally have:
- Up to 2 years’ experience in a busy, high-profile venue
- A natural flair for providing first-class service
- Reliability, friendliness, and enthusiasm to be a key part of a high-performing team
Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience is preferred.
Key traits include:
- Sound knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Reliability, discretion, and a professional attitude
- Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to handle feedback to achieve member satisfaction
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Pay Range (UK)
- £14.50—£14.50 GBP (The range may vary based on market differences in different geographies.)
