Kitchen Porter
Position: Kitchen Porter
Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Seasonal
Pay Rates: Up to £12.71 per hour (depending on age)
About the Role
Join our "One Great Team" at Haven as a Kitchen Porter. You’ll play an essential role in keeping our kitchen running efficiently, with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.
We’re looking for an energetic Kitchen Porter to join our awesome kitchen crew! In this key role, you’ll ensure the kitchen stays spotless, assist with basic food prep, and help the team maintain a smooth operation behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities
- Keep the kitchen clean and orderly by:
- Washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans
- Sanitising surfaces, equipment, and floors (in line with health and safety standards)
- Perform basic food preparation, including:
- Chopping vegetables
- Prepping ingredients
- Assembling simple dishes as directed by the chefs
- Help maintain stock levels by:
- Organising ingredients
- Unpacking deliveries
- Storing items properly

Requirements
- No prior experience required, though previous kitchen work, portering, or catering experience is advantageous.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to perform physical tasks:
- Lifting, carrying
- Standing for long periods
- Excellent team player with good communication skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including:
- Evenings
- Weekends
- Holidays
