Kitchen Porter

We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our growing kitchen team across the Mercure Paignton and ibis Styles Paignton. This is a great opportunity for someone who is reliable, hardworking, and enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the chefs, keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and running efficiently, while being part of a supportive and fast-paced team.
Located on the stunning Paignton seafront, the Mercure Paignton Hotel and ibis Styles Paignton offer one of the most exciting hospitality environments in the area. With panoramic sea views, vibrant restaurants, busy bars, and a strong mix of leisure and business guests, our hotels are continuing to grow and build a reputation for great food, great service, and memorable stays.
Our team works across both hotels, creating a collaborative and supportive environment where departments work closely together and everyone plays a part in delivering exceptional guest experiences. From relaxed breakfasts overlooking the bay to busy evening service and large events, no two days are the same.

What you'll be doing...


Get help with your application

- Keep the kitchen running smoothly by cleaning and organising equipment, utensils, and workspaces.
- Wash and sanitise pots, pans, dishes, and other kitchen tools, making sure everything is ready for the next dish.
- Help with basic food prep tasks, like peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients, to support the chefs during busy shifts.
- Manage waste by disposing of rubbish, recycling, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Keep storage areas stocked, organised, and clean, ensuring supplies are easy to find and ready to use.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, helping to keep the kitchen stocked and organised.
- Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards rigorously, contributing to a safe and spotless kitchen.
What We Need From You
