About The Role

Job Title: Kitchen Porter

School Location: Hatherop Castle School, Cirencester, GL7 3NB

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Shifts & Working Hours: 10am-7pm (40 hours per week)

Working Weeks: 33.6 weeks per year (term time plus inset days)

Pay Details: £19,115.84 per Annum

What will I be doing?

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly, ensuring everything is clean, organised, and ready for service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Washing pots, pans, cutlery, and crockery using an industrial dishwasher or by hand as required
  • Checking incoming deliveries, ensuring stock is correct, and storing it safely
  • Keeping kitchen and dining areas clean, tidy, and hygienic at all times
  • Supporting the catering team to provide a friendly, efficient, and high-quality service to all customers

  • Experience in catering, retail, or customer service is helpful, but not essential
  • A positive, team-focused attitude
  • Willingness to follow food hygiene and safety standards
  • Reliability and pride in maintaining high standards
