Kitchen Porter – Zero Hours Contract
Salary: £12.71 per hour (plus tips) |
About the Role
As a Kitchen Porter at Champneys Mottram Hall, you’ll play a critical role in supporting both the Kitchen and Food & Beverage teams, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient operation. Your work allows chefs and service teams to focus on delivering outstanding dining within a luxury, wellbeing-focused environment.
This role is perfect for someone who:

Key Responsibilities
Cleanliness & Maintenance
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness across kitchen areas, staff canteens, walkways, and corridors
- Wash kitchen equipment, crockery, and cutlery to support seamless restaurant service
- Perform deep cleaning of equipment as required, ensuring every surface is hygienic
- Keep storerooms organised, with floors swept and mopped
- Ensure proper waste management (food, general, and recycling) in compliance with procedures
- Store food deliveries securely and enforce Strict First In, First Out (FIFO) stock rotation
- Coordinate non-food deliveries, distributing goods efficiently across departments

Safety & Compliance
- Follow and sign off cleaning schedules to ensure due diligence and regulatory adherence
- Identify and report any equipment faults or hazards to senior kitchen staff promptly
- Maintain excellent personal hygiene and professional presentation
- Always follow food handling, health, and safety procedures
- Complete all required safety training and modules
Team & Service Support
- Assist with inventory stocktakes where needed
- Communicate effectively with chefs and colleagues
- Ensure cleared walkways and dry floors during service to prevent slips and accidents
- Maintain safe, tidy delivery yard areas
