Salary: £26,507.98 per Annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About The Role
Are you passionate about hospitality and eager to be part of a dynamic kitchen team? Lighthouse Hotel Management is proud to offer an exciting opportunity for a diligent and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our team at the Courtyard by Marriott - Luton Airport.
This is a pivotal role that supports the smooth operation of our kitchen, ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and assisting chefs so that we deliver an exceptional dining experience to our guests. We are committed to providing a competitive package that recognises your contribution and skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure all kitchen and food preparation areas are kept clean, tidy, and well-stocked throughout service periods.
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as required.
- Dispose of waste and recycling responsibly, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any faults or maintenance needs immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, health, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Support the team during busy periods by maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, checking the quality and quantity of stock.

Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as a kitchen porter or in a similar role within the catering and hospitality industry is desirable but not essential.
- Good understanding of hygiene and food safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic with a willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
