Kitchen Assistant / Duty Manager

About the Role

Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday: 11:30 AM – 7:30 PM Friday: 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM Additional weekend overtime at premium rate available

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sanitising all preparation and storage areas, including kitchen walls, stoves, sinks, ovens, and grills
  • Washing and sterilising dirty dishes, cutting boards, utensils, and cooking equipment, ensuring all cookware, utensils, and cutlery are clean and ready for service
  • Receiving, unpacking, and checking all deliveries against orders, reporting any discrepancies to the site manager
  • Organising food and supply storage areas
  • Responsible for removing rubbish and emptying bins, waste, and recycling in the kitchen
  • Assisting with food preparation as required

What Are We Looking For?

Experience & Qualifications

  • Commercial kitchen experience is highly valued but not essential
  • A basic catering or hospitality certificate (e.g., Food Handling) is desirable but not mandatory (training can be provided)
  • City & Guilds certification, BTEC, or NVQ at a basic level is required
  • A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is highly desirable
  • Right to Work in the UK mandatory
