About the Role
Location: YMCA Lakeside
Salary: £13.45 per hour (average 40 hours per week)
Contract: Seasonal position (April to October, with possibility of extension)

Key Responsibilities
Core tasks as part of a dynamic team:
- Dishwashing: Operating hand and industrial dishwashers to maintain hygiene of utensils, dishes, and equipment.
- Cleanliness & Organisation
- Sanitising kitchen and dining room surfaces, countertops, and prep areas
- Disposing of rubbish and ensuring sustainable waste management
- Food Preparation:
- Assist with basic tasks (peeling, chopping, slicing) under chef supervision
- Inventory & Compliance:
- Managing storage of kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Following health and safety protocols, including equipment maintenance
Additional Opportunities:
- Occasional support during breakfast shifts
- Live-in accommodation available (subject to interview discussion)
Requirements
- No formal qualifications required
- Physical Ability: Strong stamina, capacity to stand for long periods, and ability to lift heavy objects comfortably
- Attention to Detail: Thorough and reliable in following instructions
- Team Skills: Strong communication and collaborative mindset
- Bonus: Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation and equipment
