About Harrods
At Harrods we currently house more celebrity chefs and exclusive dining brands than any other location in the UK, and right now we are looking for exceptional Kitchen Porters to join our team in creating the magical experience that is Harrods. You will be joining a passionate, supportive, and successful brigade, all within our iconic Knightsbridge store.
About The Role
As a Kitchen Porter you will be responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen, ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times. Working alongside the Chefs, you will have to follow clear instructions and show a great sense of initiative to ensure that all agreed standards of cleaning are achieved in a timely manner.
- You’ll assist with a variety of different sections in the kitchen.
- This will include monitoring stock and maintaining daily production levels.
- Assisting in the collection, storage and distribution of food products and kitchen deliveries will be part of your daily activities as well.
- This role will also involve heavy lifting and exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals.
About You
You’ll have previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a kitchen environment, ideally at a Restaurant or Hotel kitchen. You’ll need to be organised, committed and detail oriented in every task you face. As this is a physical role, you must be physically fit and able to lift heavy items and use industrial cleaning machinery.
Our team believe in hard work. We celebrate each other’s success and are always honest with each other. We believe that we can be the best hospitality sector in the world. You’ll be someone who shares our values and understands the importance of our place in the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
