Kitchen Porter – Soho House
The Role…
At Soho House, the Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by cleaning and maintaining kitchenware including pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, and glassware.
Your main responsibility is supporting hygiene and safety standards, managing waste disposal, and maintaining overall cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and back-of-house areas.

Key Duties
- Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items (including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware) in line with daily operational needs
- Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas
- Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately, ensuring bins are emptied and areas stay clean and tidy throughout shifts
- Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies (including UK regulations and HACCP)
- Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support the kitchen team by:
- Replenishing stock and reporting low supplies
- Assisting during peak service times
- Handle kitchen equipment and items carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory integrity
- Replenish supplies such as toiletry, towels, and cleaning materials
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment

What We Are Looking For
A successful Kitchen Porter at Soho House will ideally have:
- Up to 2 years’ experience in a busy, high-profile venue
- A natural flair for first-class service
- Reliability, friendliness, and a willingness to be a key part of the team
- Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial roles (preferred)
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Reliability, discretion, and a professional attitude
- Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to:
- Handle feedback to achieve member satisfaction
- Multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Follow written and verbal instructions
Pay Range (UK)
£14.50 per hour (fixed rate)
